First things first, thank you all for your incredible support for my 100th post yesterday (and desire to make that cake
). I assure you that it’s incredible. I would recommend making it for some sort of event though, or you may have the overwhelming urge to inhale the whole thing yourself in one sitting. I’ll leave it up to you to decide if that’s a good thing or not…
Second, yesterday it was 100 degrees here. I was forced to work on my relationship with the “dreadmill” inside the comfort of my temperature controlled gym. I have to say that I’m getting better at running on it. I appreciate the fact that I can program some crazy intervals into it and it will automatically switch it up for me #fancymuch I also appreciate the fact that I can catch up on episodes of day-time trashy tv shows (read – Dance Moms and Real Housewives) . Today though, even the gym was hot inside. Not 100 degrees, but definitely steamier than usual. I found myself dripping in sweat (overshare much
) after 1 mile.
So this is my question to you – what kinds of headbands do you guys have that stay on your head and prevent sweat from running into your eyes? I currently just use the Goody cotton headbands which don’t do diddly, so I’m all ears.
Okay, enough chit chat. Time for some eats. I made this waffles the other morning for breakfast. The original recipe was a spiced waffle recipe with pears, from Mama Pea’s cookbook. But I wanted something a little more summery, and didn’t have pears on hand. So I swapped some things up and created these little beauties.
I love the fact that they are 100% whole grain, and don’t have a ton of sugar or other junk in them. The smashed raspberries get into every single bite and create little pops of happiness in your mouth. These also got nice and crunchy on the outside, but stay soft inside.
If you don’t have club soda, sparkling water would work great too. You could even use flavored if you wanted to be crazy!
I feel like I’ve finally found a good base recipe for whole grain waffles, that I plan to doctor/junk up with lots of stuff. #cantwait

These are most certainly worth waking up for in the morning, even in this dreaded heat. Ugh. It was 100 here today too and is supposed to get to 109 this weekend. I am not a huge fan of the ‘dreadmill’ either but I mucho prefer running in a nice air conditioned gym (with of course trashy TV–you and me should talk Housewives sometime, girl) than dying in that hottness. Even so, I end up sweating buckets too. I LOVE these headbands! I have one on almost every color and they really do work. The best part: they aren’t so darn tight that they give you headaches but don’t slip and prevent getting sweat in yo face! You can check ‘em out here
Stay cool hun!

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ve seen these before. I just bought a bondi band today from Scheels so we’ll so how that goes. I will definitely keep this in mind.
