A while back I started a “favorite things” series. I kind of fell out of posting in this series because I got excited about other things, but I figured it was time to share some new (and old) favorites with you all.
I’m pretty sure that most of the new products that I try are because other bloggers or friends have talked about them and I see them and have to have them… I’m not really an impulse shopper. I would much rather shop for the best deal, or read tons of product reviews before buying something. Even if it’s something small.
Anyhow, here are some of my current favorites- (with a giveaway below!!!!)
Brooks PureFlow2 running shoes:
I bought these shoes about a month ago when my Mizuno WaveRiders started bothering my knees. I liked the WaveRiders for a while, but was never truly in love with them. My true shoe test is to run some serious miles in them and see how my body holds up. I have really high arches in my feet and a history of IT band issues, patellar tendon issues… The right shoes (along with listening to my body as I train) will keep those things at bay. So far I am loving the PureFlow2s. They feel like a combination of my old Nike Free Runs, and my Asics nimbus 16s – super lightweight, but with comfy cushioning and good arch support. I got them in black and neon green/yellow and adore the color combination. So fun and different, and the black keeps them looking cleaner longer. Win!
Ok, maybe this a cheat because it’s not actually mine, but I bought this necklace for my sister for her 21st birthday a few days ago. I’ve seen these necklaces around and just think they are so pretty. It can be worn alone for a classy look, or layered with other necklaces for a chunkier look. I got the 1 inch sterling silver with 18k gold plating. And I told Josh that if he ever needed to get me a present for something, I wouldn’t be too upset if he ordered this. Because the necklaces are handmade, you need to give yourself a little time to get this. I think mine was about 2 1/2 – 3 weeks from the time I ordered to the time I got it in the mail.
I like adding protein powder to my morning smoothies, oatmeal or protein pancakes. Normally I use Spirutein Vanilla, but I’ve been searching for a chocolate flavor that I like. I got this Designer Whey tub at Target and absolutely loved it! It’s delicious in smoothies, but this stuff is so tasty I can add it to water and drink it just like that! (That’s saying something because normally I find the straight powder too chalky or artificial tasting. This stuff tastes nice and chocolatey and dissolves like a dream. It’s also only 100 calories for 18 g of protein. It uses natural flavoring and sugars too so that’s a nice bonus. I can’t wait to try other Designer Whey flavors.
I’ve talked to you about my love for dry shampoos before. I was on the last sprays of my Suave Keratin Infusion the other day so I went to Walgreens to buy some more. Sadly, they were all out. I guess everyone else got the dry shampoo memo too. The only other kind they had left was the Big Sexy Hair. I was hesitant to spend the money knowing full well that I could buy the Suave somewhere else, but I decided that my third day hair was crying out for the dry shampoo… I bought it, sprayed it, combed it through and was immediately in love. The smell is to die for. The texture is very different than my Suave. It adds a little bit of grit and volume, but doesn’t make my hair feel dirty. It brushed right in, no white powdery spots. And in 30 seconds I went from a grease ball to presentable. (Please don’t be grossed out. I shower – I just don’t wash my hair every day…) Anyhow, Big Sexy Hair, I love you. I may be a convert.
Last but not least… I’ve talked about this product before. If I think about one thing in my kitchen that I use every day, it has to be this. I use it in my coffee. I use it in my oats. My smoothies. My baking. My cocktails. Yogurt. Sauces. You name it, I’ve probably done it. I love that I can just use a few drops and it transforms everything. By now most people know what stevia is, or have at least heard of it. Stevia is a calorie-free all-natural sweetener. Many products that once used aspartame/sucralose are starting to use stevia now instead. Powdered stevia tends to have a distinct aftertaste to it. These NuNaturals drops do not. They use a blend of the stevia and pure vanilla extract, which is perfect for baking and flavoring beverages. And because you only need a few drops, it lasts forever! One 2 oz bottle last Josh and me several months with frequent use.
So now here’s the best part. I feel like I’ve been talking about these stevia drops forever that it’s about time I share them with you. I am going to giveaway TWO bottles of Pure Liquid Vanilla Stevia drops to my readers! If you would like to win you can enter by doing the following:
